Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American journalist. She works at ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter and sometimes hosts SportsNation. Her first job at ESPN at the end of 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins has been a bilingual since the age nine years old. It was a helpful ability that allowed her to secure her first position as a production assistant for Univision in Miami that gave her an opportunity to work with producers of national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. She was hired as a reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. She moved to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for Fox2 News, the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. The reporter covered stories about the trafficking of drugs and immigrants on the Texas and Mexico frontier, she served as a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. As an anchor, her duties for sports or weather were often requested. She was then the anchor and reporter of Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. In the following years, she was given higher responsibilities. She did pieces on the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also had her own local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. She worked as anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. The anchor also worked as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins' parents are born in Veracruz Mexico. They eventually moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She's younger than her sister. In 1992, the family relocated from Mexico and relocated to Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she got married again Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who died in 2006 from kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she had one week with her sibling at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta, a high-school senior with a plan of what she envisioned her future career would be, decided to visit Mount Union University to see whether it was a good fit for her. As it turned out she loved the school and they offered the course she wanted. She graduated from high school and was accepted at the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU, of which she is a part of. They developed a close connection. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be confident, and his love of journalism deeply affected her, and she also strived to live up to the expectations of him and not let him down.
