Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actor since the late 1980s. Known for her work in TV and film from the mid-80s onwards, she's been awarded numerous awards such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was raised by her aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her birthplace was and raised within New York New York. Bassett moved with her twin sister in St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order so that they could be near their mom as she was divorced from their dad. Bassett was in high school when was able to see James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck production Of Mice and Men and knew that her dream of becoming an actor had come true. Yale University New Haven Connecticut awarded her a bachelor's degree (1980) with a focus on African American study, and an advanced degree (1983) at the Yale School of Drama. She met Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Bachelor of Arts (Afro-American Studies) in the year 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the principal parts in the action film i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
